Ukrainian figure skaters won silver at the Junior World Championships for the first time in 25 years

Ukrainian figure skaters Sofia Golichenko and Artem Darensky became vice-champions of the Junior World Championship, winning silver medals for Ukraine for the first time in 25 years.

On March 1, on the final day of the world championship held in Debrecen, Hungary, the Ukrainian couple competed in the duet competition. They received 106.66 points for their program and their total score was 164.06 points, securing them second place on the podium. The victory was won by the representatives of Georgia, who scored 191.01 points.

This award was the first for Ukraine at the Junior World Figure Skating Championships in the last two years. The last time Ukrainian athletes took second place at these competitions was in 2000, when Alyona Savchenko and Stanislav Morozov became champions, and Yulia Obertas and Dmytro Palamarchuk won silver medals.

We will remind that the composition of the Ukrainian national team for the adult World Figure Skating Championship, which will be held in Boston from March 26 to 30, was recently determined.
