The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, together with the ambassador of the UNITED24 platform, the famous American historian Timothy Snyder, tested several models of demining robots at the training ground. About this reported Ministry of Digital Press Office.
Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko accompanied them to the training ground. They inspected the robotic complexes, for the purchase of which money is collected by Timothy Snyder and actor Mark Hamill. Among the tested models were three ground systems:
- the “Snake” surface demining complex, which clears hard-to-reach places using a trawl with hooks.
- multi-purpose KNLR-E tracked platform with an armored body, capable of moving on any surface.
- UGV SIRKO-S1, which can reach speeds of up to 14 km/h and work in extreme conditions.

Timothy Snyder is an American historian, a specialist in the history of Eastern Europe and a professor at Yale University. Known for his research on nationalism, totalitarianism and the Holocaust. His monograph “Bloody Lands: Europe between Hitler and Stalin” claims that both regimes destroyed about 14 million people in the territories of Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and the Baltic states.
With the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Snyder actively supports Ukraine, lecturing on its modern history. In November 2022, he became a UNITED24 ambassador. In addition, in September 2023, together with Serhiy Zhadan, he opened the INDEX Institute of Documentation and Interaction in Lviv, which will be a platform for recording the events of the war and scientific cooperation.
In December 2022, Snyder raised funds for the purchase of 2,500 sensors to detect Russian missiles and drones, which were distributed across Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Sumy regions.
