Ukrainian forestry enterprises have started selling Christmas trees

State forestry farms opened the official sale of Christmas trees at an average price of 135 hryvnias per meter. About this reported press service of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”.
As the company notes, Christmas trees are grown on special plantations that operate in each region. To reach the required height, the trees grow from 4 to 8 years. In addition, part of the Christmas trees and pines are harvested during sanitary felling, which contributes to the formation and improvement of forests: therefore, no harm is done to the ecosystem.
In addition to traditional trees, forest farms offer Christmas trees and pine trees in pots. When buying such trees, you can get recommendations for transplanting and care after the holidays.
According to “Forests of Ukraine”, prices for Christmas trees this year remain stable. On average, a meter of wood costs 135 hryvnias, although the price may vary depending on the region. You can buy trees in the company’s forestry.
“By buying a tree officially, you pay taxes from which the budget of your community and the entire country is formed”, – the press service of the enterprise emphasizes.
Meanwhile, the purchase of Christmas trees from illegal sellers risks fines in the amount of 510 to 1,700 hryvnias, the State Environmental Inspection reminds. To confirm legality, each Christmas tree must have an electronic chip or bar code indicating the forestry company that harvested it.
