Ukrainians’ debts on microloans have almost doubled

In the first nine months of 2024, Ukrainians issued almost 6 million microloans for a total amount of 37.11 billion hryvnias. Although the number of loans remained almost unchanged compared to last year, there was a significant increase in arrears. Such data leads portal Opendatabot.
The average amount of one microloan increased by 28% – from 4,830 to 6,190 hryvnias. However, in dollar terms, the average loan amount has slightly decreased: if in 2021 it was about $168, now it is about $150.
Every month, Ukrainians conclude about 670,000 credit agreements, which is in line with last year’s figures, but significantly less than in 2021, when the number of such agreements reached 1.2 million every month.
The dynamics of indebtedness, which has increased by 1.7 times since the beginning of the year – from 9.3 to 16.02 billion hryvnias, is particularly indicative. Almost 90% of microloans are issued online, and most agreements are concluded for a period of three months to a year.
