Ukrzaliznytsia strengthens control over document verification when boarding trains

Ukrzaliznytsia announced a new stage in the fight against traffickers and increased control over document checks before boarding. About this reported the press service of the company.

“In recent days, we have received a number of appeals regarding the improper control of documents by train crews – in particular, whether the name on the ticket and the passenger’s passport match”, – the UZ explained the reason for the increased measures.

The company reminded that control tools have been in place for more than two years, in particular, mandatory verification through the Diya application for purchasing tickets for popular international flights. Hundreds of passengers who had tickets issued in someone else’s name were not allowed to board the trains. The OLX online platform blocks attempts by fraudsters to resell tickets. In connection with the new measures, groups of paramilitary guards will work selectively at stations, and train crews have been instructed to check documents more thoroughly.

“We strive to give every honest Ukrainian passenger the opportunity to buy a ticket in the right direction without any obstacles. Do not support fraudsters – let us know. Together, we will make railway travel even more affordable!” – urged in the company.

Recently, complaints about the difficulty of purchasing tickets have increased. Ukrzaliznytsia explains the deficit due to increased seasonal demand — in particular, demand for the route Kyiv – Yaremche in July increased by 460%, and from Kyiv to Bukovel – by 406%.

Group transportation also causes a load: since the beginning of summer, 204,000 passengers have been transported, of which 140,000 are children on group applications, which is twice as many as last year. In addition, part of the tickets is reserved for military personnel — 70,500 military personnel were transported through the special reserve. The company advised passengers to buy tickets online and use the car redemption service.
