Umerov denied information about the encirclement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umyerov, stated that the Armed Forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation had redeployed to more advantageous defense lines and denied the information about the encirclement of the Ukrainian military. About this informs Fox News.
“Our defense forces, we continue to conduct defensive operations and keep under control a significant number of kilometers of the enemy’s territory. In order to maintain a certain readiness of forces and troops, we carried out a planned redeployment to more advantageous defense lines, but at this stage not a single unit of the defense forces is surrounded and the statements about thousands of Ukrainian servicemen who were surrounded do not correspond to reality.”, – Umerov noted.
The head of the Ministry of Defense also mentioned that in the fall of 2024, at the BRICS summit, information was spread about the alleged encirclement of some servicemen of the Armed Forces, but it was not confirmed.
“Therefore, this is a continuation of propaganda. But we will continue active defensive action with offensive actions on the flanks of the enemy’s operational group in order to prevent its invasion of our territory.” – he concluded.
