Renovation of the main building of the Okhmatdyt hospital, damaged as a result of shelling, has begun in Kyiv
In Kyiv, the restoration of the main building of the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, which was damaged by shelling in July 2024, has begun. About the start of repair works reported Ministry of Health.
According to the results of the procurement procedure carried out in the Prozorro system, a contract was signed for the capital repair of the modern medical and diagnostic building of the “Okhmatdit” NDSL.
The winner of the tender was “Riola-Modul LTD” LLC, which submitted the most economically advantageous offer – almost UAH 293 million. The expected cost of the purchase was UAH 367.4 million, so this proposal will save more than UAH 70 million, which can be directed to other areas of the hospital’s recovery. The contractor has experience in the construction and reconstruction of medical facilities. It was “Riola-Modul LTD” that completed the construction of the modern building of Okhmatdyt in 2020.
The authorized person of the hospital conducted a comprehensive review of the participant’s documentation with the participation of the international engineering company Eptisa Servicios de Ingeniería, which performs the functions of the customer’s service. It is Eptisa — a team with experience in the implementation of complex projects in the field of medical infrastructure — that accompanies the process technically, legally and procedurally in accordance with international standards.
Also, a contract worth about UAH 2 million was signed with the winner of the tender for technical supervision — the engineering company “Akadem Bud”. The financing of restoration works and technical supervision will be carried out at the expense of the “Okhmatdyt — healthy childhood” charity fund, which accumulated a significant part of the donations of Ukrainians in 2024. These funds will be directed to the restoration of the hospital for its direct purpose.
The author’s supervision will be provided by the Arkon engineering company, which developed the project documentation before the overhaul. The amount of the contract is sub-threshold, it is UAH 1.5 million, the payer for this contract is also the charity fund “Okhmatdyt – healthy childhood”.
The contracting organization has started additional surveys and is conducting the necessary measurements at the facility. This makes it possible not to lose time and ensure the prompt start of construction works. The functional purpose of the premises does not change. During the works, medical assistance will continue to be provided without interruption – the building remains functional.
The tender for capital repairs was announced on the basis of detailed design and estimate documentation, which takes into account the complexity of the object and contains the necessary engineering calculations and technical solutions.
The modern building is a key object in the structure of the hospital. It was here that most of the units from the damaged buildings were housed after the missile strike in July 2024. The full restoration of this building is critical for the stable operation of the hospital.
Primary emergency measures were carried out last year — the building was protected from external influences: window and door openings were closed, part of the premises was fenced off with temporary structures, engineering networks were protected and heating radiators were partially replaced. This allowed doctors to continue helping children in a safe environment.
