Vance spoke about meeting with Pope Francis on the eve of his death

US Vice President JD Vance shared details of his meeting with Pope Francis, which took place shortly before the pontiff’s death. About this informs The Washington Post.

“And I try to just, you know, remember that I’m lucky that I got to shake his hand and tell him that I’m praying for him every day.” Vance said.

He noted that it was difficult for him to realize that this meeting was the last for the Pope.

“It’s just crazy really. When I saw him, I didn’t know he had less than 24 hours left to live on earth. I think it was a great blessing.” – said the American vice president.

We will remind that on April 21, Pope Francis died at the age of 88. World leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and US President Donald Trump, expressed their condolences to the Catholic community. A week-long national mourning has been announced in Brazil.
