Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the ratification of the centennial agreement with Great Britain

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada draft law No. 0332, which provides for the ratification of the Agreement on a one-year partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Relevant information placed on the website of the parliament.
The document is the result of the signing of the century-old partnership agreement between Ukraine and Great Britain, which took place in January 2025. The agreement covers a wide range of areas — from security, defense and trade to science, technology, education and culture.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer signed the document. One of the main directions is the deepening of military cooperation, in particular in the field of maritime security. It is planned to create new structures to protect the waters of the Baltic, Black and Azov seas and counter Russian aggression.
The agreement also provides for the involvement of specialists in the development of joint scientific and technological projects in the fields of health care, agricultural technologies, drones, space and education, which will contribute to the strengthening of interstate ties.
Among the key innovations is the introduction of the British verification system, which will allow tracking the illegal export of grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In addition, the document confirms the role of Great Britain as a strategic partner of Ukraine in the energy sector, extraction of critical resources and production of “green” steel. The text of the agreement emphasizes that Ukraine’s accession to NATO is considered the most reliable guarantee of its security, and Great Britain firmly supports Kyiv’s irreversible course towards membership in the Alliance.
The importance of reconstruction of Ukraine as a key factor for its further development, which will allow both states to strengthen their role in leading sectors and promote common values, is emphasized separately. At the same time, Ukraine confirms its obligations to continue the systematic fight against corruption in all spheres in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
