Vucic announced a ‘brotherly meeting’ with Fico in Moscow

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić stated, who had a “fraternal meeting” with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico in Moscow on the evening of May 8.

“A fraternal meeting with the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico tonight in Moscow. Serbs and Slovaks, brothers forever!”, – said Vuchich’s message.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico arrived in Moscow for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. On the evening of May 8, Vladimir Putin held a dinner with the leaders who arrived in the Russian capital for the May 9 celebration.

After the event, Vučić noted that he held many “cordial meetings” with the heads of states, with whom he does not have the opportunity to communicate often. He also said that on May 9, “the most important” negotiations with Putin and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, await him. The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, was also present at the gala dinner.

Robert Fico and Aleksandar Vucic became the only European leaders who came to take part in the festive events in Moscow on May 9 at the level of heads of state. Fico arrived in the Russian capital in the evening of May 8, despite the fact that the Baltic countries banned his plane from flying through their airspace.
