Google Company presented an update to the Gemini chatbot, adding two new features — Canvas, an interactive tool for creating, editing, and collaborating on projects, and Audio Overview, which turns documents into podcasts.
Using Canvas in the Gemini query line, users will be able to start writing or editing a document with the ability to see all changes in real time. The tool allows you to change the tone, length or formatting of the text using simple settings. Ready content can be easily exported to Google Docs with one click.
Canvas also expands the possibilities for programming and software creation. Users will be able to turn their ideas into working prototypes of applications, Python scripts, games or simulations, receiving help from a chatbot at every stage — from generation to making changes to the code. In addition, Canvas will allow you to create and view HTML/React code or other web prototypes, such as a subscription form for a site, with the ability to immediately see the result.
Another important innovation is the Audio Transfer function, which allows you to turn a Deep Research document, presentation or analytical report into a podcast. Gemini will generate a dialogue between two AI presenters who will discuss the uploaded material, summarize key points, make connections between topics and offer their own conclusions.
The Audio Narration feature is now available in English for all Gemini and Gemini Advanced users worldwide. Support for other languages will be added later.
