Zelensky called the Russian army’s strike on Sumy “brutal”

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi named the attack on Sumy, carried out by Russian troops on June 3, was “beastly”. As a result of the attack, three civilians were killed, and more than 20 people were injured.

“The Russians attacked Sumy in a brutal manner. Just in the city, on ordinary streets – from rocket artillery. An absolutely deliberate attack on civilians. A rescue operation is currently underway. Many are injured. As of this time, three deaths are known.” – emphasized Zelensky.

According to the president, one of the shells fired by the Russian army did not detonate.

“This projectile pierced the wall of a room of an ordinary apartment on the ninth floor. Everything you need to know about the Russian “desire” to end this war. It is obvious that without the pressure of the world, without the decisive steps of the United States, Europe and everyone in the world who has power, Putin will not agree even to a ceasefire.”, – said Zelensky.

He emphasized that Russian troops are shelling Ukrainian settlements every day.

“Every day we lose our people to Russian terror. Every day Russia gives reasons to strengthen sanctions against it and increase support for our defense. And I thank everyone in the world who is promoting exactly such an agenda: sanctions for aggression and murder of people, help to protect the lives of Ukrainians.”, – emphasized Zelensky.

We will remind, on June 3, around 9:00 a.m., Russian troops struck the city center with long-range rocket systems. Three people died, about 20 more were injured, including four children and a 17-year-old teenager. Residential buildings, a medical facility and cars that were in motion were damaged. Rescuers are working on the spot, and a headquarters has been established to eliminate the consequences of shelling. According to the prosecutor’s office, one of the rockets hit vehicles in the center of the city, and the others hit the surrounding area.
