Zelensky publicly argued with Trump and Vance in the Oval Office

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi publicly argued with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance during a meeting in the Oval Office.

During the talks, Vance again criticized the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden, saying that he was “beating his chest” and made it seem as if his words matter more than actual actions. He emphasized that Trump is showing “real steps” to end the war.

In response, Zelensky asked the vice president what diplomacy could help end the war if Russia repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreements. He also noted that hostilities have been going on since 2014, when the US was headed by Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

“I signed the agreement in 2019. Both Macron and Merkel confirmed the ceasefire. And everyone assured me that no one would go any further. We signed a gas contract. He (Putin) broke our agreement, did not exchange prisoners. What diplomacy can help here?”, – asked Zelensky.

After that, Vance said that Ukraine lacks military personnel to fight against Russia and the country allegedly “cannot recruit soldiers into the army.”

Trump began to insist that Ukraine does not have “the necessary cards in its hands.”

“Millions of people are at risk. We’re on the brink of World War III. You can’t play with that. You’re disrespecting our country and you can’t tell us what to do.”, he said emotionally.

The American president once again repeated the false data that the USA allegedly transferred $350 billion in military aid to Ukraine. He also suggested that without this support, Russia’s war against Ukraine could end “within two weeks.”

“I already heard it from Putin” Zelensky answered.

In response, Trump called on Zelensky to show gratitude for the assistance provided.

“You’re running out of soldiers and you’re telling us, ‘I don’t want a ceasefire, I don’t want a ceasefire,'” – continued the US president.

According to Trump, if Zelensky gets an opportunity to agree on a ceasefire, he will have to use it.

“You tell us I don’t want a truce, I don’t want a truce. I want it, I want it. Look, if you want a truce right now, I say go for it.” – Trump said.

To this, President Zelensky asked, “where are the guarantees for Ukraine?” President Trump did not answer this question.

We will remind that on February 28, Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived at the White House for a meeting with US President Donald Trump. As part of the visit, it was planned to sign the so-called “subsoil agreement” – the Bilateral Agreement on Establishing the Rules and Conditions of the Reconstruction Investment Fund, but the agreement broke down.
