The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced main results summit of the G7 countries for Ukraine. According to him, one of the key achievements was the promised greater number of anti-aircraft defenses for the protection of Ukrainian cities.
“There will be more air defense for our cities. There will be more equipment and other necessary things for the front. It has also been decided about the use of Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine, there is the first significant step of the G7 regarding the 50 billion dollars,” the head of state emphasized.
Zelensky shared that during the negotiations with the G7 leaders, the acceleration of the supply of defense equipment to Ukraine was discussed. In particular, new supplies of anti-aircraft systems and other military equipment were announced.
The President also noted the historic conclusion of a bilateral security agreement with the United States, which establishes a true alliance between the two countries. This agreement, according to Zelenskyi, became the strongest agreement with America throughout the entire history of Ukraine’s independence.
In addition, a security agreement was concluded with Japan, reflecting the deep partnership between the countries. Zelensky emphasized that this agreement lays the foundation for cooperation not only in the security sphere, but also in the political and economic spheres. According to Zelenskyi, seven security agreements have already been signed – with all G7 countries. And in total, 17 agreements have already been signed, 10 more are being prepared for signing.
Zelenskyi also announced new support from Canada. In addition, Britain promises increased support.
