Men aged 18-25 who have completed contract service will be able to leave Ukraine if they have the appropriate documents

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has updated the rules for crossing the state border for men aged 18 to 25, who were in military service under a contract. In accordance with by resolution No. 1536, such citizens will be able to leave the country during martial law only under certain conditions.

For this, it is necessary to provide a certificate issued by the commander of a military unit, the head of the territorial center of recruitment and social support, or a representative of the intelligence agency of the Ministry of Defense. The document must contain confirmation of the conclusion of the contract. In addition, it is necessary to present a military registration document.

The resolution also clarifies that this applies only to those persons who have entered into a contract in accordance with the requirements of the third part of Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service”. It is important that before signing the contract, such persons should not have completed any other military service except for basic training.

These changes are aimed at ensuring the control and preservation of the country’s military potential during martial law, as well as at maintaining the effectiveness of the contract army in wartime conditions.
