President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov and the new Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov. During the meeting, Zelenskyi discussed the situation at the front, interaction with international partners regarding security guarantees for Ukraine and determined key tasks.
The Minister of Defense is instructed to immediately form a team that will deal with interaction with partners regarding all the details of the security system necessary for Ukraine and the implementation of decisions made at the military-political level. It is noted that already this week the formed team should take part in the work in London during the corresponding meeting of military representatives.
The Chief of the General Staff was tasked with “accelerating the formation of the corps system in our Defense Forces and conducting an audit of the actual needs of combat brigades.”
“Strengthening the army is an unchanging priority, and there can be no backward steps in this matter. The defense and security forces of Ukraine, the defense-industrial complex and multi-level interaction with partners are the basis of our independence.” – emphasized Zelensky.
