The General Staff confirmed the strike on a factory in Russia that produces parts for missiles and bombs
The Ukrainian military struck the “Energia” plant, located in the city of Yelets, Lipetsk region, where components for Russian missiles, aerial bombs and specialized equipment are manufactured. About this informs press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On the night of May 23, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, attacked PJSC “Energia” located in the city of Yelets, Lipetsk Region., the message says.
The General Staff confirmed a hit in the target area, several explosions were recorded. A fire broke out on the territory of the plant. The enterprise “Energia” is one of the largest producers of chemical current sources in Russia. In particular, it is the country’s only producer of batteries for correction and planning modules, which are installed on aerial bombs.
In addition, the plant produces power elements for the Iskander-M missile complex, sea-based cruise missiles, as well as a number of universal batteries for power supply systems of special equipment.
“The shutdown of PJSC “Energia” may leave some of the military equipment and weapons of the Russian occupiers without critical power elements”, – emphasizes the General Staff.
