The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, dismissed Andrii Hnatov from the position of commander of the United Armed Forces of Ukraine. The relevant decree published on the website of the head of state.
“Release Andrii Viktorovych Hnatov from the position of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, the document states. The reasons for such a decision are not specified.
Hnatov assumed this position on June 24, 2024, replacing General Yuriy Sodol, who has the title of Hero of Ukraine. He took an active part in the defense of Mykolaiv and Bakhmut.
We will remind that on January 26, Zelensky announced the transfer of Major General Hnatov to the General Staff to the position of deputy chief. According to the president, his new task is to increase the level of training of operational headquarters and improve coordination between headquarters and the front.
