President Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated, that the Defense Forces successfully fulfilled the main task of the Kursk operation — to withdraw Russian troops from Pokrovsk, the Kharkiv direction, and Sumy.
“It is clear that the situation in Kurshchyna is very difficult. The task of the Kursk operation was to withdraw the troops from Pokrovsk, the Kharkiv direction and Sumy. Our guys are absolutely heroic, they took such a strong blow.
The first pressure fell on the Kharkiv direction. They (the Russians – ed.) withdrew as much of their troops as possible from there to Kurshchyna. Then they began to take from the Eastern direction, but did not leave their main task – Pokrovsk. We understood all this.” – noted Zelensky.
According to him, the Kursk operation contributed to the stabilization of the situation in the Pokrovsky and Kharkiv directions. The President thanked the Ukrainian defenders for carrying out the operation and emphasized that its task was successfully implemented.
“I believe that she has fulfilled her task. I think that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction is now stable, and it will be very difficult to find an opportunity to occupy Pokrovsk again.” – concluded the head of state.
