Russian military executes four captured National Guard soldiers

Near the city of Selidove in the Donetsk region, Russian troops brutally shot four captured soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine. About this reported press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office on October 24.

In particular, it is known that an official investigation into this war crime has been launched.

According to operational information, on October 6, four soldiers of the National Guard carried out a combat mission at advanced positions in the Selidovoy district. Around 1:00 p.m., Russian troops launched an attack on Ukrainian military fortifications, during which soldiers were captured. After that, the Russian military videotaped the interrogation of wounded and unarmed Ukrainian defenders.

The next day, after the Ukrainian forces regained their positions, the bodies of the killed National Guardsmen were found during a search operation.

The Prosecutor General’s Office emphasized that the killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of international law, including the Geneva Conventions, and qualifies as a grave international crime.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war, which was accompanied by intentional murder.

We will remind that another case is also being investigated in the Pokrovsk region — the shooting of 16 captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Russian troops. The division of the occupiers involved in this execution has already been established. In addition, the shooting of a wounded Ukrainian serviceman was documented in the Bakhmut direction, which is also under investigation.
