Zelenskyy should “return with gratitude” or leave office: Speaker of Congress Johnson

The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, said that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, should return to negotiations with the US “with gratitude, or someone else should lead the country to it.” About this informs NBC News.

“Something must change. Either he must come to his senses and return with gratitude, or someone else must lead the country to this. It is up to the Ukrainians to decide what to do.” – said Johnson.

He also expressed disappointment with Zelenskyi’s position:

“What President Zelenskyi did in the White House actually gave us a signal that he’s not ready for that yet, and I think that’s a big disappointment.”

Johnson emphasized that Trump “made it very clear that if Zelensky is ready for peace, then we can negotiate a deal.”

In addition, he stated that security guarantees are an important part of the mining agreement, noting:

“This mining rights deal is a win, a win for everyone. It will give us access to the rare earth minerals we need and provide some level of security for Ukraine.”
