Zelenskyy spoke about the situation in the Kursk region and Putin’s plans for a large-scale offensive against Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported about the planned offensive actions of the Russian troops and clarified the situation in the Kursk region.

According to him, Vladimir Putin is planning an offensive on Zaporizhzhia, Sumy Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast and eastern Ukraine.

“I would really like President Trump to hear and see what Putin wants. Putin wants to take several offensive actions in the Zaporozhye direction, in the east, in the Kharkiv and Sumy directions. For what? In order to put maximum pressure on Ukraine and issue ultimatums from a position of strength.” – said the president.

Zelensky emphasized that Russia seeks to increase pressure on Ukraine. According to him, Vladimir Putin is trying to advance as far as possible on Ukrainian territory in order to later propose a ceasefire on his own terms and put forward ultimatum demands. In this way, Putin is trying to gain favorable positions.

The president also stated that the Ukrainian military will remain on the territory of Russia’s Kursk region as long as it is necessary to carry out the operation:

“After Putin tells us that our guys are surrounded, our guys stand there, showing that they are not surrounded and that it is not Putin who controls when the guys go and where to leave. Not only that, there is an operation – it seems to someone that someone ran, and someone left, and somewhere else entered in another corner. These are our clear strategic steps and goals.”.

Zelenskyi added that the Ukrainian side has recorded a new concentration of Russian troops in the Kursk region.

“We see what they want to do, they want to attack Sumy Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, and Zaporizhzhia Oblast. That’s what we see. We won’t let it happen so easily.”, – emphasized the president.
