25 seriously ill and wounded Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity

Ukraine ensured the creation of a separate format for the return of seriously ill and wounded prisoners. Soldiers who lost their sight, suffered limb amputations, received serious bullet wounds and the consequences of mine-explosive injuries returned home. About this reported President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

“Today, another 25 of our people are returning home to Ukraine. These are our military and civilians. Among them are the defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, as well as our Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson Oblast. The boys have serious injuries and illnesses. Each of them will receive everything they need medical assistance”, – said the head of state.

The Defense Ministry’s main intelligence agency clarified that all those released are military personnel, including soldiers, sailors and sergeants. Among them is also a civilian who was captured in the Kyiv region and illegally detained by the Russian side.

“Representatives of the National Guard, Armed Forces (including TrO), Naval Forces, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine are returning home and will receive proper treatment and rehabilitation. We were also able to take wounded Ukrainian servicemen from Kurshchyna“, says the message of the GUR.
