A dredger exploded in the Odessa region, there are casualties

In the Odesa region, a dredger blew up during planned works in the “Bystre” estuary. Three of the 11 crew members died. About this informs Administration of Seaports of Ukraine (AMPU).

“An extraordinary event occurred with the dredger vessel belonging to the Delta Pilot branch of the State Enterprise Sea Ports Administration of Ukraine. The vessel was at the mouth of the Bystre River for planned work with 11 crew members. As a result of the explosion, three AMPU employees were killed.”, the message says.

AMPU noted that the other crew members are currently in the hospital, they are being provided with all the necessary medical assistance.

“Relevant services are working at the scene. The details of the event are being clarified. The results will be reported further.” – reported in the administration.

The state enterprise “Seaports Administration of Ukraine” promises to provide all the necessary support to the families of the dead and those who suffered as a result of the extraordinary event.

“The Bystre estuary sea approach channel is temporarily closed for vessel traffic. The passage of vessels to/from the seaports of the Danube region is currently carried out through the Sulyn Canal”, – added in “AMPU”.
