Farmers of frontline regions will be provided with corn seeds for spring sowing
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, in cooperation with the international company “Bayer” and the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities, launched a seed production support program, within which farmers in the frontline regions receive free will provide corn seeds for spring sowing.
“We are talking about the free transfer of corn seeds for spring sowing to farmers of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions (with the exception of temporarily occupied territories).
Such an initiative is another step to strengthen Ukraine’s food security in wartime conditions, as it will allow farmers from the frontline and de-occupied territories to sow approximately 10,000 hectares and harvest approximately 120,000 tons of grain.” — emphasized the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
To participate in the program, the farm must be registered in the State Agrarian Register (DAR) and have from 5 to 500 hectares of land under cultivation in the respective regions.
You can apply for participation from April 21 to 30 or until the available amount of assistance is exhausted. Each approved participant will be able to receive up to 25 sowing units of corn seeds – at the rate of one unit per 1 ha. Seed production will begin in early May and will last approximately two weeks.
