A financial literacy project for women is being launched in Ukraine

Oschadbank together with the Ukrainian Women’s Congress signed memorandum on the launch of an educational initiative aimed at increasing the level of financial literacy among women in the regions of Ukraine. The program includes conducting research, developing educational materials and launching a pilot project in one of the identified communities.

The main goal of the project is to provide women of different ages and from different social groups with access to knowledge and financial tools, which, according to the organizers, will contribute to the development of female leadership, strengthening confidence and economic independence.

“Oschadbank wants its clients to acquire new knowledge, and thus new opportunities. This coincides with the goals of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress, which seeks to give more opportunities to women, to motivate them to new achievements. We have chosen UZHK as a partner as a leading organization that has been setting the agenda in the field of gender equality for many years.” – noted during the signing of the memorandum, the Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank, Serhiy Naumov.

Roza Tapanova, a member of the Supervisory Board of Oschadbank, emphasized that the bank is actively involved in the life of regional communities.

“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have decided that our bank cannot remain exclusively a financial institution. Savings is present in all controlled Ukrainian regions. Our partner, the Ukrainian Women’s Congress, also has deep knowledge of the regions. Our cooperation should help the formation of local women leaders. Together, we will help them believe in themselves, provide additional knowledge and expand opportunities for personal and business growth. We have high hopes for the project launched today.”, — explained Tapanova.

According to the director of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress, Svitlana Voytsekhovska, such an initiative is especially relevant in the conditions of war:

“At our Congresses, we see how women’s roles are changing. How many women open new businesses or take over the management of their husband’s businesses. And at the same time, we see how they are afraid to grow, scale – because they lack financial knowledge. UZHK is grateful to Oschadbank for partnering in such a necessary educational project.”
