A football tournament with the participation of veterans with limb amputations will be held in Kyiv

June 22 at the Viktor Bannikov NTK stadium in the capital will take place charity football tournament called “Match for Heroes 2.0” with the participation of veterans with limb amputations.
The event is organized by Mastercard and Oschadbank in partnership with the Ukrainian Football Association to draw attention to the development of adaptive sports in Ukraine and support fundraising for the “League of Adults” social project. This initiative of the UAF helps military personnel with limb amputations to return to an active life.
“Match for Heroes 2.0” is a continuation of the charity event, which for the first time brought together veterans with prostheses and famous Ukrainians on the field. Then it was possible to attract more than 7.7 million hryvnias for sports prostheses for Superhumans Center patients.
This year, the event will be held in the format of a tournament according to the rules of amfootball — football on crutches. Four teams will compete in two semi-finals, a third-place match and a final. The duration of each game is two halves of 20 minutes with a 10-minute break.
More than 50 professional football players from different parts of Ukraine will gather on the field. The game will be joined by celebrities who will play the role of goalkeepers – among them Yevhen Klopotenko, Oleksandr Sydorenko (Fozzie) and others. According to the rules of amp football, goalkeepers can use only one hand, the other is hidden under a special corset to comply with the conditions of the game.
The “Match for Heroes 2.0” tournament will be open to the public – everyone will be able to visit it for free on June 22 from 10:30 a.m. A live broadcast will also be available: on the official YouTube channel of the UAF, as well as on the MEGOGO platform — within the OTT service on the MEGOGO Football First channel and on the MEGOGO SPORT channel in T2 and cable networks.
