A high-voltage line to the resort will be built in the Carpathians for 11 million euros

The all-season mountain resort Goro Mountain Resort in the Carpathians has started the implementation of the project for the construction of the power supply system with a total cost of 11 million euros. About this reported press service of the resort.
The project envisages the construction of two lines of the power grid with a total capacity of 17.7 MW and a length of 15 km, which will provide power supply for the operation of the resort. Currently, the implementation of the first stage is underway – a 9 km long ground power line, the cost of which is 5 million euros. As of July 10, 2025, eight overhead power lines out of the planned 53 have already been installed.
“By the end of this year, we plan to completely complete the construction of the above-ground part of the power transmission line, after which we will begin work on the underground. This is an important stage in the creation of Goro Mountain Resort, because it is the one that lays the foundation for the development of the entire infrastructure of the resort and the region in general. It is fundamental for us that the project is implemented in partnership with the state – on the basis of transparent and long-term commitments, which pave the way for large-scale investments in the Carpathians.” – noted CEO GORO Mountain Resort Volodymyr Garazd.
In case of fulfillment of all contractual conditions, the state undertakes to compensate the expenses for the construction of power grids. In total, Goro Mountain Resort intends to invest at least 140 million euros according to the schedule agreed with the state. The first line of ski slopes is planned to open in the winter season of 2026-2027.
The construction of electricity supply is part of the resort’s obligations, defined in tripartite agreements with the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Slavska settlement council. The investment and development company Goro Development takes care of the development of the hotel infrastructure of Goro Mountain Resort.
