A Russian company operating the Zaporizhzhia NPP fell under US sanctions

The US Treasury Department included in the updated sanctions list “Federal State Unitary Enterprise Zaporizhzhya NPP”, created by the Russian side on the basis of an occupied Ukrainian nuclear plant. About informs press service of the US Treasury.

In October 2022, the Prime Minister of Russia Mykhailo Mishustin signed an order on the creation of the “Federal State Unitary Enterprise Zaporizhzhya NPP” on the basis of the Ukrainian nuclear plant captured by the Russians.
This structure was created after the decree of Vladimir Putin, which provided for the transfer of the ZNPP facilities to the ownership of the Russian federal government.
We will remind that on January 10, the US Treasury Department announced sanctions against a number of Russian oil companies. In particular, Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz were included in the sanctions list.
