Poland is strengthening the security of the “hub of aid to Ukraine” due to the threat of Russian sabotage
Polish Interior Minister Tomasz Semoniak confirmed increased security measures around Rzeszow-Jasenko Airport, a key transit hub for military aid to Ukraine. This decision was taken against the background of the detention of 12 people suspected of carrying out sabotage on the territory of Poland with the support of Russia.
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Poland Tomas Semoniak in an interview Bloomberg.
Semoniak said Poland was facing an unprecedented level of foreign interference, including arson, attempted arson and physical attacks. According to him, these actions are coordinated by the Russian military intelligence GRU and carried out by “disposable agents” such as football hooligans or members of organized crime groups.
The minister called the situation “very serious”, as Russian special services are operating on the territory of Poland more openly and aggressively than before.
“We are no longer talking about influencers or any online activity. These are people who are ready to come and set fireand,” Semenyak said.
