A suspect in drug trafficking was detained in Pryluky, who turned out to be the mayor’s son.

Employees of the criminal police of the Prylutsky District Department documented several episodes of drug sales in which a local resident was involved. Law enforcement officers detained husband By information journalists of “Suspilny”, the detainee is Yaroslav, the son of the mayor of Pryluk, Olga Popenko.
As a result of the implementation of operational information, it was established that the suspect systematically traded drugs of vegetable origin (probably cannabis) within the city of Pryluka and the district.
During the complex of investigative actions, the police documented several facts of illegal drug trafficking. During a warrant search of the suspect’s residence and vehicle, substances similar to cannabis, methadone and amphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of the man’s involvement in their sale were seized. The seized has been sent for examination.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigation continues within the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal sale of narcotic drugs committed repeatedly). The sanction of this article provides imprisonment for a term of 6 to 10 years with confiscation of property.
