The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine criticized the social network X for covering up war crimes of the Russian Federation

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tyhiy spoke with sharp criticism of the social network X, which is owned by Elon Musk, accusing the platform of hiding evidence of war crimes committed by Russia on the territory of Ukraine.

The diplomat published a screenshot showing that the social network hid the publication from the official account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The post talked about the number of children killed as a result of Russian shelling.

“Really, X? Since when is the number of Ukrainian children killed by Russia considered ‘shocking content’? It doesn’t stop users from seeing graphic content. It sweeps Russian war crimes under the rug. It’s shameful and it should be undone.” Tykhy noted.

He appealed to the management of the social network, in particular to the units responsible for security and global politics, with the demand to remove restrictions that prevent the dissemination of truthful information about the war.

Tychy described the content moderation policy on the platform as unacceptable and humiliating, calling for its revision. In social networks, the concept of “shocking content” usually covers materials with detailed or brutal depictions of violence, sexual nature, or other scenes that may cause emotional upheaval.

We will remind that on April 4, European regulators are preparing to introduce large-scale sanctions against the X platform due to non-compliance with legislation aimed at combating illegal content and disinformation.
