At the age of 78, the outstanding American film director David Lynch, the author of the cult TV series “Twin Peaks” and iconic films “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive”, passed away. About this reported his family

“It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and artist David Lynch. We would appreciate it if you could leave us alone at this time. There is a great hole in the world that he is no longer with us. But, as he said, ‘look at the donut, not the hole’. It’s a beautiful day with golden sun and blue skies all the way.”, the message says.

David Keith Lynch is an American director, artist, musician and actor, a representative of independent cinema. He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including three Academy Award nominations for Best Director and one for Best Adapted Screenplay.

His works were twice nominated for the French César for the best foreign film, and were also awarded the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Lion at Venice.
