Detectives of the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in Kyiv announced suspicion against the head of the Department of the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for embezzlement of budget funds of the Ministry of Defense. “The pre-trial investigation established that the official, abusing his official powers, concluded a contract for the supply of offset paper during procurement in 2023.
The contract provided for the supply of goods at prices that were significantly higher than market prices, which led to the embezzlement of funds by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. As a result of such illegal actions, more than UAH 5 million in damages were caused to the budget of Ukraine.”, says the message.
The suspect in the criminal proceedings was charged under part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for responsibility for misappropriation, embezzlement or possession of property due to abuse of official position. Currently, the procedure for choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is ongoing.
