At the G7 meeting, Ukraine agreed with Germany to immediately strengthen its air defence: Umerov

At a meeting of G7 defence ministers, Ukraine reached important agreements with Germany to immediately strengthen its air defence system, as announced by Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov. This decision was the result of close negotiations aimed at speeding up the process of receiving assistance in the face of constant missile attacks from Russia.
According to Umerov, the agreement signed with Germany provides for immediate actions on the part of this country aimed at significantly improving the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in defending its airspace. Particular attention will be paid to providing Ukraine with modern air defence systems that can effectively counter Russian missiles, drones and aircraft.
The agreement provides for both German participation in financing joint projects and support for individual national initiatives. This means that each signatory country undertakes to contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities. At the same time, countries such as Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, and Denmark have also joined the initiative, making it multilateral and even more effective.
It is important to note that the active participation of international partners in projects to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence is not only a symbol of support but also an important strategic response to Russia’s aggressive actions. This will help Ukraine better protect its critical infrastructure, cities and citizens, reducing the possibility of destruction and casualties from massive attacks.
The new agreement is a key step towards further improving the effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defence, which will also have a positive impact on the security of the European region as a whole.
