Ukraine and the European Commission have started a meeting on entrepreneurship and industrial policy

In Brussels started a bilateral meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and the European Commission as part of the official screening for compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law under Chapter 20 “Entrepreneurship and industrial policy”, which is part of Cluster 3 “Competitiveness and inclusive development”.
“Ukraine is determined to implement EU legislation in the areas of industrial policy, competition, state aid, public procurement and support for small and medium-sized businesses. We are prepared to present clear timetables for implementation and to discuss transitional periods that may be necessary due to the extraordinary circumstances of war. Although progress will not be instantaneous, especially in the conditions of martial law, our commitment to bringing legislation closer to European and continuing the path of European integration remains unwavering.” – said Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna.
In Brussels, Ukraine’s progress is represented by Deputy Minister of Economy Andriy Telyupa, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Yevhen Kudryavets, Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna, as well as representatives of the State Space Agency of Ukraine, the State Geology and Subsoil Service of Ukraine and other institutions.
Olha Stefanishyna emphasized that the stability of the process of legal approximation of Ukraine to the EU legislation in the relevant areas was repeatedly recognized in the reports of the European Union in recent years. Even after the start of full-scale Russian aggression, Ukraine was able to achieve significant strategic progress, and is currently continuing fundamental changes — moving from outdated information systems to modern solutions.
Particular attention is paid to strengthening the sustainability and competitiveness of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), expanding access to financing, deregulation and stimulating the development of clusters. Special emphasis is placed on digitization and innovation potential of SMEs.
As part of the screening, Ukraine will present the state of implementation and convergence with EU policies in the following areas: horizontal aspects of industrial policy, entrepreneurship policy and tools to support SMEs, as well as legislation regulating industrial sectors.
