Belarus insists on its participation in peace talks on Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus announced its intention to participate in the upcoming peace negotiations on the settlement of the war in Ukraine. Such a position was expressed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Yuriy Ambrazevych during the meeting of the Advisory Council on the Affairs of Belarusians Abroad. This is reported by local mass media.
“We have stated from the beginning that we claim a seat at the table of peace negotiations regarding Ukraine when they begin. It is important for us to receive guarantees of our own security.” – noted Ambrazevych.
The deputy minister also emphasized that the final agreements should take into account the interests of Belarus. According to the Belarusian side, the country cannot remain aloof, as it is not only about regional security, but also about the direct interests of Minsk.
Earlier, the President of Belarus Oleksandr Lukashenko stated that Belarus should participate in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. According to him, issues that directly affect Belarusian interests, including possible territorial claims, can be resolved at such negotiations. Lukashenko also emphasized that Minsk considers its participation as a necessary condition for maintaining stability in the region.
