Budget students will work for the state in exchange for their studies

The Ministry of Education has defined a list of specialties that have priority status for the state. The training of specialists in these areas will be financed from the state budget, however, training at the expense of the state will involve the obligation to work for a certain period. About this reported Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vynnytskyi.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science plans to work on the implementation of a mechanism that will provide graduates who studied under the budget form with a guaranteed job and mandatory work for a certain period in the acquired specialty. In other words, those who received education at the expense of the state will have to work out this resource, applying their knowledge according to the profile.

“The point is that a state order should really become a state order. This means: if the state pays one hundred percent of the cost of training a specialist, then this specialist has certain obligations to it.” – explained Vynnytskyi.

The program will apply exclusively to graduates who received their education at the expense of the state budget. After completing their training, young specialists will have to pass a competition for their first job, which will be organized by the State Employment Service with the participation of employers.

The innovation will not apply to students who studied under a contract or at the expense of grant funding. Training will be provided primarily for representatives of professions that are in short supply for the public sector — in particular, doctors, teachers and specialists in certain other fields.
