President of Ukraine approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to ban the transfer of doctors to other military positions

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed Decree No. 817/2024, which approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to counter threats to national security in the field of health care during martial law. By information Ministry of Health, this decision is aimed at strengthening the health care system in conditions of war.

According to the decision of the National Security Council, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine should introduce a ban on the transfer of medical workers to military positions not related to medicine within a month. Exceptions are possible only at the personal request of the medical worker.

This ban will remain in effect during the period of martial law. In addition, the government is tasked to consider the feasibility of revising the conditions for booking medical professionals, including rehabilitation specialists and other health care workers.

Among other things, it is about the abolition of restrictions on the number of conscript workers in state and communal health care institutions, public health institutions, forensic medical and forensic psychiatric examinations, as well as blood centers. Ensuring their work in these institutions will be considered a priority regardless of the military accounting specialty.
