Businesses in Ukraine expect an increase in electricity tariffs

In autumn, electricity tariffs for businesses in Ukraine will increase. About this reported The National Commission for State Regulation in the Fields of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP).
The regulator announced the review of the draft resolution on the revision of limit prices on the day-ahead market, the intraday market and the balancing market, which will take place on October 1.
The reason for revising the limit prices is the need to create conditions for the commercial import of electricity from European countries in order to cover a possible power deficit during the autumn-winter period, when the country’s energy system may be subject to terrorist attacks from Russia.
The proposed solution is aimed at balancing the energy system and ensuring a stable supply of electricity for all categories of consumers. At the same time, the regulator assures that the changes will not affect fixed tariffs for the population.
We will remind that from June 1, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine significantly increased electricity tariffs for household consumers, which now amount to UAH 4.32 per kWh. At the same time, the maximum prices for electricity for businesses were increased.
This week it also became known about a temporary increase in tariffs for consumers who receive electricity from a “last resort” supplier.
