Representatives of Ukraine and India discussed opportunities for cooperation in the defence industry
Representatives of Ukraine and India met to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the defence industry. According to the press service of the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, the talks focused on the prospects for strengthening cooperation in this area.
Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin met with Indian Ambassador Ravi Shankar and Naval Attaché Santosh Belliappa. The participants discussed potential areas for expanding the partnership between Ukraine and India in the defence sector. Smetanin emphasised that Ukraine views India as a strategic partner and is committed to strengthening cooperation.
“Ukraine is open to expanding the geography of partnerships in the defence sector, we are ready to consider various forms of cooperation. At this stage, it is important to study the capabilities and needs of the defence industries of both our countries, to identify the issues and the course we will follow,’ the minister said.
Ambassador Ravi Shankar expressed his gratitude for Ukraine’s initiative, saying:
‘I welcome the proposal to strengthen cooperation in the field of defence technology and assure the full support of the Embassy for the development of specific projects!’
