Canada urges partners to allow Ukraine to launch strikes on Russian territory: Foreign Minister

Canada is trying to persuade other states to lift restrictions on Ukraine’s use of weapons, allowing it to strike targets on Russian territory. This was announced by Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly during a conference in Montreal on the peace formula.
She said that Canada supports Ukraine’s right to use long-range Western-supplied weapons against targets in Russia, considering it important for its self-defence.
‘We are also trying to convince other countries to take this position,’ she added.
As you know, some countries, such as Canada, the Netherlands, Norway and the Baltic states, have allowed Ukraine to use the weapons it has provided to strike Russia. At the same time, there are countries that have imposed restrictions. Germany, for example, allows the use of weapons only in border areas where it poses a threat to Ukraine. The United States and Britain, which have provided Ukraine with long-range missiles, prohibit their use deep inside Russian territory.
The Pentagon has reported that Russia has already moved its targets beyond the range of the ATACMS missiles, moving them 300 km away from the border.
