China and Russia always move “hand in hand”: Xi Jinping

On December 31, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin exchanged New Year’s greetings. The Chinese leader noted that relations between their countries are developing “hand in hand”. This is reported by the Xinhua agency.

“China and Russia always move forward hand in hand on the right path of non-alignment, non-confrontation and non-targeting of the third party,” Xi Jinping said.

He also stressed that political “mutual trust” and strategic cooperation between Beijing and Moscow are reaching a new level under the leadership of both leaders. According to him, these relations also contribute to strengthening the positions of the two countries in such international associations as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

China and Russia, according to Xi, make a significant contribution to the development of cooperation between the countries of the Global South. He also expressed his willingness to maintain “close contacts” with Putin and work on further strengthening the Sino-Russian partnership, which, he said, is based on the principles of good neighborliness, strategic coordination and mutual benefit.
