Czech Republic will not buy American weapons for Ukraine under Trump’s plan

The Czech Republic does not intend to join US President Donald Trump’s initiative to purchase American weapons for Ukraine through NATO, as it focuses on other forms of support for Kyiv. About this stated Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala in a comment to the publication Publico.
The head of the Czech government explained that the country will continue to help Ukraine, but within the framework of its own programs, in particular within the framework of the ammunition supply project.
“The Czech Republic is focusing on other projects and ways of helping Ukraine, for example through the ammunition initiative. Therefore, we are not currently considering the possibility of joining this project”, – emphasized Fiala.
We will remind, on July 14, the USA and NATO announced the conclusion of an agreement, which provides for the supply of American weapons to Ukraine at the expense of financing from European countries. Participation in the project has already been confirmed by Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
Within the framework of the agreement, Ukraine should receive American weapons in the amount of 10 billion dollars, which will be purchased by European partners in the United States. At the same time, the United States will not directly supply weapons to Ukraine. According to the plan, weapons will be provided by NATO countries from their arsenals, and in the future these stocks will be replenished.
