Putin’s aide said that the Russian Federation does not want a temporary truce

Vladimir Putin’s assistant Yuriy Ushakov said that Moscow does not seek a temporary truce with Ukraine, but is interested in a long-term settlement of the conflict. This is reported by rosZMI.

“It seems to me that no one needs any steps that imitate peaceful actions in this situation”, – noted Ushakov.

He emphasized that Russia’s goal is a “long-term peaceful settlement”, which should take into account the “legitimate interests” of the Russian Federation.

According to Ushakov, during a conversation with US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, he outlined Russia’s position on this issue:

“Explained our position regarding the fact that this (ceasefire) is nothing more than a temporary respite for the Ukrainian military, nothing more”.

In addition, Ushakov said that Putin may later announce in more detail Russia’s position on the temporary truce.

We will remind that on March 11, as a result of the meeting in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine agreed to the immediate introduction of a 30-day ceasefire, if Russia also takes such a step.
