Poland plans to spend almost 400 million dollars on the modernization of the border with Belarus
Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland Cezary Tomczyk said that the country plans to spend almost 400 million dollars on the modernization of the border with Belarus. These funds will be used to make the barrier “impassable” for illegal migrants.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland Caesarius Tomchik, conveys TVN24.
“Along the entire length of the barrier, fortifications developed by the Silesian Institute of Technology and our engineers will be implemented to make the barrier impenetrable“, he noted.
Tomchyk emphasized that the structure erected by the previous government is “in many respects a temporary solution” that cannot effectively deter migrants.
“This barrier must be effective, and this is what the Polish state is doing today, and we will allocate huge funds for this“, – he said.
According to him, the modernization “will cost about 1.5 billion zlotys (about $374 million), and that’s how much should be spent to make this barrier really work.”
