Details of the “peace plan” of Keith Kellogg, Donald Trump’s special representative for Ukraine have become known

The future US special representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, in his “peace plan” proposes to freeze the front line, force Kyiv and Moscow to negotiate, and lift sanctions from Russia. About this informs CNN.

Kellogg, 80, a former national security adviser to Donald Trump who will serve as a special representative in the new US administration, is critical of current White House policies. He blames Joe Biden’s administration for the late and insufficient supply of arms to Ukraine, which he believes has affected the country’s ability to successfully defend itself against Russian aggression.

Kellogg believes that the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO is currently very remote, and proposes to suspend this process indefinitely in exchange for a comprehensive peace agreement with security guarantees. In his opinion, this step should become part of the official US policy aimed at achieving a ceasefire and a negotiated settlement.

In his “peace plan”, he also notes that future US aid to Ukraine may be provided in the form of loans and will depend on progress in negotiations with Russia. According to him, aid with weapons should be sufficient only to deter aggression and stop further actions of the occupiers before and after the possible signing of a peace agreement. In addition, Kellogg proposes establishing a demilitarized zone and freezing the front line through a cease-fire.
