Putin opens second front of hybrid war on NATO’s eastern border: Bloomberg

Russia has stepped up destabilizing operations in the Baltic Sea region, opening a second front of hybrid warfare on NATO’s eastern border.

About this stated President of Finland Alexander Stubb.

Tensions especially increased on the Russian-Estonian border, where Russian border guards demonstratively removed navigational aids. This incident was seen as a provocation and an attempt to destabilize the region. The Baltic states, which share a long border with Russia and Belarus, are increasingly turning into a second front in the West’s conflict with Moscow.

Russia has resorted to a variety of hybrid tactics, including sending migrants, jamming GPS signals, recruiting criminals for sabotage, and attempting to mobilize Russian-speaking minorities and incite internal divisions. Moscow also actively uses disinformation and propaganda, spreading harmful content through social media.

The West recognizes the growing threat and plans to strengthen NATO’s eastern border. Russian hybrid attacks will be included in the agenda of the NATO summit, which will be held on July 9-11.

Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen emphasized the seriousness of the situation, saying: “There is no front line in this. All of Europe is now at war.”
