Due to heavy rains, the water level in Lviv rose by 3 meters

As a result of heavy rainfall, the Zubra River near Lviv overflowed its banks and threatens to flood part of the city. The water level has already reached three meters. About this informs Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovoy.
“Due to heavy rains, flooding continues in Lviv. There are places where the water reaches almost 3 meters – we are talking about non-residential zones. The Zubra River continues to overflow its banks.” informed the mayor.
He emphasized that the threat of flooding concerns parts of Frankivskyi, Sykhivskyi and Zaliznychnyi districts. The city authorities urge residents to move things from basements to safe places as soon as possible and to remove cars from underground parking lots and potentially flooded areas. Utility services are working in enhanced mode to reduce the effects of bad weather.
Residents of Lviv are urged to be as careful as possible, to carefully follow the messages of city services and not to risk their own safety.
The night of July 10 in the Lviv region was accompanied by severe weather, which also affected Lviv itself. As a result of the intense downpours, part of the city’s streets were flooded, traffic was complicated or completely blocked in some areas. Due to bad weather, more than 190 settlements in Lviv Oblast were left without electricity supply. Dozens of emergency teams are involved in the restoration work.
