Elon Musk predicts the end of the era of smartphones: the future of brain implants

A famous entrepreneur and inventor Elon Musk surprised the world again with his predictions about the future of technology. In response to a question from a user of the social network X (formerly Twitter) about the possibility of controlling the new X-phone with the help of a Neuralink brain implant, Musk said that “there will be no phones” and instead there will be only Neuralink.

This bold statement caused a storm of reaction on the Internet, because Neuralink, a company owned by Musk, develops brain implants to create an interface between the brain and the computer. The company recently received FDA approval to implant its chip in a second volunteer after fixing problems with the first patient.

While Musk did not elaborate on his prediction, his words underscore his belief in the potential of brain implants as the next step in the evolution of human interaction with technology.

Neuralink, an American neurotechnology company that develops brain implants to control devices with the power of thought, has taken an important step in its research. Despite criticism over animal experiments, the company has received approval from US regulators to implant its chip into the human brain.
